March 2020 LGBT Events in Ft Lauderdale

On this Blog, I will post a highlight of some of the LGBT non-profit and political events that are going on in Ft. Lauderdale each month, so folks who want to attend can put them on their Calendars.

Tuesday, March 3  –  Equality Florida Broward Equality Connection  –  5:30 PM – 7:30 PM. Whale's Bar & Grill, 3537 Galt Ocean Dr, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33308. Please join us for our Broward Equality Connection on Tuesday, March 3rd at Whale's Bar & Grill. Stop by to mix, mingle, and enjoy delicious lite bites, drink specials, and a raffle. This will be a fun event, open to all! On hand will be our local South Florida leadership team to let you know what's next in the fight for full equality in the midst of this contentious legislative session. Friday, March 6  –  Celebration of Life for Mayor Justin S. Flippen  –  6:00 - 8:00pm. The Venue Fort Lauderdale, 2345 Wilton Dr, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33305. Please join us in celebrating the life of Mayor Justin S. Flippen. Parking is limited. Ride sharing is encouraged. As additional information becomes available it will be added to www.wiltonmanors.com as well as the city’s official Facebook (@officialwiltonmanors) and Twitter (@WiltonManorsCty) pages. In lieu of sending flowers or gifts, Mayor Justin Flippen’s family respectfully asks for donations to be made to the Justin Flippen Memorial Fund at Our Fund or United Church of Christ Fort Lauderdale. The Justin Flippen Memorial Fund has been established through Our Fund to provide support for Florida LGBT+ students aspiring to enter public service and pursuing a degree in political science or a related field. Wednesday, March 11 – Dolphin Democrats Meeting – Second Wednesday of Each Month. 7:00pm. Friday, March 13 – SunServe Silver Serve Luncheon – 11:00am – 1:00pm (Second Friday of the Month). ArtServe, 1350 E. Sunrise Blvd. Fort Lauderdale, FL. Every Second Friday of the Month. SunServe is a model 501(c)(3) nonprofit social service agency serving the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning (LGBTQ) community in South Florida. We provide high quality, compassionate, and progressive care for all, including those in financial need, minorities, youth, seniors, families, and those with life-challenging physical or emotional conditions. Friday, March 13  –  Museum of Discovery and Science 25th Annual Wine Spirits Culinary Celebration  –  6:30 PM – 10 PM. Museum of Discovery and Science, 401 SW 2nd St, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33312. Friday, March 13 –  SAGE & Friends Fort Lauderdale 2020 –  6:00 – 8:00pm. Grateful Palate, 3003 NE 32nd Ave., Fort Lauderdale. SAGE presents Sue Wilder with the SAGE Community Leadership award for her exceptional accomplishments and contributions to Fort Lauderdale’s LGBT community! SAGE will also be making a contribution to the South Florida Institute on Aging (SoFIA) to support LGBT elders in the Fort Lauderdale area and our  Friendly Visitor Program which in partnership between SAGE and SoFIA will provide home visits to isolated LGBT elders in Broward County. Sunday, March 29  –  Lambda Legal in Fort Lauderdale  –  5:00 - 7:30pm. Bonnet House Museum & Gardens, 900 N Birch Rd, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33304. Join us for our annual Lambda Legal in Fort Lauderdale event at the historic Bonnet House Museum & Gardens on Sunday, March 29th, 2020. Saturday, April 25  – Pride Fort Lauderdale and Pride of the Americas 2020  – 12:00 - 2:30pm. S Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316. Get ready to show your colors at the very first Pride of the Americas parade along Fort Lauderdale Beach. Enjoy marching bands, floats, walking units and street entertainers at this historic parade. You'll even experience a taste of Mardi Gras, thanks to our sponsors, New Orleans. The parade steps off at Windamar and SR A1A at 12 noon. Be sure to avoid traffic and arrive early.
