On this Blog, I will post a highlight of some of the LGBT
non-profit and political Events that are going on in Ft. Lauderdale each month,
so folks who want to attend can put them on their Calendars. With that in
mind, here are the events I want to highlight for December:
December Events:
Saturday, December 1 – World AIDs Day Remembrance Bike Ride – 9:30 am – Bayfront Park Amphitheater, 301 North Biscayne Boulevard, Miami,
FL. 24-mile Remembrance Ride to commemorate the 24th anniversary of World AIDs
Day. We suggest that riders gather Saturday morning at Bayfront Park in
downtown Miami. This ride is open to all cyclists of all levels. For more

Saturday, December 1 – World AIDs Day – 6:30 pm – Lineup,
Hagen Park, 2020 Wilton Drive. Rally: 7:45 pm, Pride Center at Equality Park,
2040 N. Dixie HWY, Wilton Manors, Florida 33305. Leading the walk this year and
then performing a concert the very next night at the Broward Center will be

Saturday, December 1 – Red Hot Dance Party for World AIDs
Day – 8:00 pm (following the World AIDs Day
Candlelight Vigil). Pride Center Warehouse, 2040 N. Dixie HWY, Wilton Manors,
Florida 33305. $20 at the Door, $15 Advance Tickets. Featuring: DJ Marcio
Santos. Proceeds benefit the Pride Center and TSR Adventures, Inc., The SMART

Sunday, December5 –
Broward House presents Wanda Sykes – 8pm. Tickets: $45 - $75. VIP Tickets $100*. Sykes
will make her only South Florida appearance in 2012-13 in this one-night only
engagement during World AID Days weekend as a benefit for Broward House,
Broward County's oldest and largest HIV/AIDS community service organization. *
VIP tickets include a post show meet-n-greet.

Tuesday, December 4 – The Fifth Annual Holiday
Celebration, A benefit for Broward House and The Pride Center at Equality Park.

Wednesday, December 5 – A Toy's Story 3: A Night For Giving – 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
the Manor, 2345 Wilton Drive, Wilton Manors, FL 33305. An event dedicated to giving back to the local
charities that work year-round to enrich our community. This year's event
features several additional local charities ranging from cancer prevention to
care organizations offering everyone a reason to participate. Presale tickets
are available now for $15 each, plus an unwrapped toy the day of the event. At
the door, tickets will be sold for $20 plus an unwrapped toy. The evening will
feature a silent auction, wreath actions, a "Room For Giving" and a

Thursday, December 6 – ArtServe Holiday Member Showcase
2012 -
6:00pm until 8:00pm. A holiday tradition in itself, this annual showcase is a
celebration supporting the dynamic work of all ArtServe members. Exhibition

Saturday, January 19th
– Pride Center’s Evening in Paradise – 7:00pm – 10:00pm. Historic Richardson
House, 1937 Wilton Drive, Wilton Manors, 33305. This will be the second year
for this event, which benefits the Wilton Manors based Pride Center of South
Florida. It is the Pride Center’s largest fundraiser of the year. The event
will feature an open bar, food, a silent auction, and music & entertainment.
