On this Blog, I will post a highlight of some of the LGBT
non-profit and political Events that are going on in Ft. Lauderdale each month,
so folks who want to attend can put them on their Calendars. With that in
mind, here are the events I want to highlight for January 2013:
January Events:
Sunday, January 6 – Island City Stage is having a friendraiser/fundraiser
to celebrate their new production, "Pig Tale" – 11:30 at the home of
Marc Martorana and Don D'Arminio in Wilton Manors. Come meet the cast and help

-Saturdays at 8:00 and Sundays at 5:00 through February 2 at Empire Stage, 1140

Tuesday, January 8 – MACK Power Lunch –11:30 am - 1:30 pm. China
Grill @ Hilton Ft. Lauderdale Marina. 1881 Southeast 17th Street, Ft.
Lauderdale, FL. At the beginning of every Power Lunch we offer approx. 30
minutes to introduce yourself and chat with fellow attendees in a social
setting. There may be a very brief presentation by an event sponsor to share
insights and industry information. Then the rest of our time is enjoying lunch
and breaking the ice to develop professional friendships with everyone around

Saturday, January 12 –
Our Fund Wine and Cheese Reception at the Holocaust Exhibit at Compass – 4:00pm - 6:00pm. 201 N. Dixie Highway Lake Worth,
FL 33460. Our
Fund is a sponsor of the exhibit and will be hosting a wine and cheese
reception at the Holocaust Exhibit at Compass for friends and donors of Our
Fund – all are welcomed. The exhibit is produced by the United States
Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington DC and has received great

Tuesday, January 15 –
Mack Mixer Fort Lauderdale – 6:30pm - 9:00pm. Dapur Asian Tapas & Lounge. 1620 N.

Saturday, January 19 –
Pride Center’s Evening in Paradise – Give In To Temptation – 7:00pm - 11:00pm. Richardson Historic Park Manor House,
1937 Wilton Drive, Wilton Manors, FL 33305. Now in its second year, An Evening
in Paradise is the Pride Center’s largest fundraiser. During the event, guests
will be teased with temptation as they bid on an incredible collection of
auction items and enjoy an evening of hors d’ oeuvres, cocktails and music in a
modern Garden of Eden created by Bobby Kyser of Panache Style. A portion of the
proceeds will benefit the Island City Foundation. VIP Ticket $150

January 23 –Join HRC for the 2013 Anti-Bullying Summit – 6:30pm – Sunrise Middle School, Fort Lauderdale. HRC South Florida is
proud to announce its 2013 Anti-Bullying Summit being held at Sunrise Middle
School in Fort Lauderdale. This Summit is in partnership with Broward County
Public Schools and Sunrise Middle School. The goal of the Summit is to educate
students, faculty, administrators, legislators and our local community about
