non-profit and political events that are going on in Ft. Lauderdale each month,

June 30 – Celebrity Roast of AHF's Mark Martin and Broward House's Terry
DeCarlo – 7:00pm. The Manor, 2345 Wilton Drive, Wilton
Manors. Join us at the Manor as the community comes together to roast two of
our own in a night that is sure to be hilarious (but not very pretty)!! Tickets
are only $8 in advance ($10 at door) and this event is a benefit for the
Rainbow Business Coalition, AHF, and Broward House. Tix can be obtained at AHF,

Tuesday, July 2 – Stonewall
Book Discussion Group – 7pm. Stonewall National Museum & Archives,1300 East
Sunrise Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale. They will discuss Blue's Bayou by David Lennon, one of his
series of The Quarter Boy books. It is a mystery novel, the main character
being a New Orleans detective who returns to his home town because of a death
in the family and ends up having to solve a murder case. It is the sort of
crime novel that has a little comedy that keeps it light and entertaining while

Wednesday, July 3 – City of Wilton Manors Equality Celebration – 6:00PM at City Hall, 2020 Wilton Drive in Wilton Manors. Please join the City of Wilton Manors as we host an Equality Celebration. The event will highlight the significance of the Supreme Court’s historic ruling to overturn the Defense of Marriage Act and recognize the equality of same-sex marriages. Hundreds are expected to join in the joyous celebration, which will feature food, entertainment, and statements by local officials, including Mayor Gary Resnick and members of the City Commission, various City Boards and Committees and City employees. “As Wilton Manors has one of the largest gay and lesbian populations per capita in the nation, this decision will have significant consequences for thousands of our residents in Wilton Manors and our region and millions of people around the country – now and in the future.” – Gary Resnick, Mayor of Wilton Manors.

Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce Gay and Lesbian Business Xchange (GLBX) Business
After Hours. – 5:30pm
- 7:00pm. Pride Center at Equality Park, 2040 N Dixie Highway, Wilton Manors,
FL Broward County's premiere gay-friendly networking organization, maximizing
our members business profitability. The GLBX Business After Hours receptions
are a key element in creating and fostering these relationships. The

Wednesday, July 17 – The Equality Garden Club – The Equality Park Garden Club meets
every 3rd Wednesday of the month except December. It is a Gay and
Straight friendly garden club with a variety of plant related events.
Meetings include a guest speaker with a horticultural topic, plant exchange,

Saturday, August 3 – Paverello’s 23rd Annual Bowling to
Fight Hunger – 11:00am
– 3:00pm. Sawgrass Lanes, 8501 North University Drive, Tamarac, FL. – Formerly,
Poverello's bowlathon, Bowling to Fight Hunger is a high energy fun charity
bowling event. Teams consist of 5 bowlers each. Register, form a team and start
raising money to fight hunger. All proceeds to help Poverello carry out its
mission of proving life-saving food and basic life essentials to those living
