On this Blog, I will post a highlight
of some of the LGBT non-profit and political events that are going on in Ft.
Lauderdale each month, so folks who want to attend can put them on their
Calendars.
Thursday,
June 1 – GLLN Social Luncheon
– 11:45am - 1:15pm. Timpano’s, 450 E Las Olas Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, FL
33301. Monthly luncheons are on the first Thursday of every month. The mission
for the gay & lesbian lawyers network is to provide a social network in which
gay, lesbian and gay friendly lawyers can develop their practices through
friendships, referral relationships and professional development. APPROVED FOR

Friday, June 9 – SunServe Silver Serve
Luncheon – 11:00am – 1:00pm (Second Friday of
the Month). ArtServe, 1350 E. Sunrise Blvd. Fort Lauderdale, FL. Every Second
Friday of the Month. SunServe is a model 501(c)(3) nonprofit social service
agency serving the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning (LGBTQ)
community in South Florida. We provide high quality, compassionate, and
progressive care for all, including those in financial need, minorities, youth,
seniors, families, and those with life-challenging physical or emotional
conditions. We also perform numerous education and outreach projects. Kindly

Saturday, June 10 – South Florida Pride Wind
Ensemble, Celebration - 7:00 PM – 9:30 PM. Broward Center for the
Performing Arts, 201 Southwest 5th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312. The Pride
Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, and Steel Drum Band will take the stage in the
Amaturo Theatre at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts as they celebrate
the contribution of gay and lesbian composers and the gay and lesbian band
movement. Guest vocalists and dancers will be invited to join forces with the

Saturday, June 10 – Pride Center Bingo – Second Saturdays of Each Month. 6:30 p.m.
doors open; 7:30 p.m. Pride Center, 2040 N. Dixie Hwy, Wilton Manors. Main
Hall, Schubert Building. Bingo; proceeds benefit The Pride Center. The cost is
$15.00 for the Bingo Package. There will be a concession stand open and

Sunday, June 11 – Equality Rally For Unity
& Pride, and Pulse Remembrance, FTL
– 4:00pm - 6:00pm. Huizenga Plaza, 1
E Las Olas Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33301. In solidarity with the
national "Equality March For Unity & Pride," in Washington, DC,
those who celebrate diversity, and respect the rights of all individuals
are invited to gather, join hands, raise their voices and proclaim our
indivisibility. A remembrance of the victims of the Pulse Nightclub massacre
will include guest speaker and Pulse survivor Isaiah Henderson, a special
performance by The Gay Men's Chorus, and an opportunity to

Wednesday, June 14 – Dolphin Democrats
Meeting – Second Wednesday of Each Month.
7:00pm. The Pride Center, 2040 A North Dixie Highway, Wilton Manors, FL.
7:00 pm – Pizza and social. 7:30 pm – Meeting. “Further, it shall be the
mission of this organization to foster good will between gay, lesbian, bisexual
and transgender (LGBT) members of the Democratic Party and the community at
large. We seek individual freedom in the framework of a just society and
political freedom in the framework of meaningful participation by all

Saturday, June 17 – Stonewall Festival - 2017 –
3:00 PM - 11:00 PM. Wilton Manors,
Florida. The parade is the main attraction of the festival. Thousands come out
to watch floats and groups as they strut their stuff down Wilton Drive. The
parade begins at 4:00 pm and lasts for an hour and a half. In addition to the
stages, The Manor plus four stages on the Drive, and several bar stages, which
will be featuring local performers and DJ’s throughout the day, we are pleased
to announce iHeartRadio will have two radio stations, 93.9 MIA & Y100 Miami
and one TV station, NBC 6 in the Mix South Florida will be present on the Drive. With over 100
vendors and exhibitors, and food vendors and trucks, the Festival marketplace
is always a fun way to spend the afternoon. Several of the area nonprofits and
governmental agencies take part and provide a wide range of information and

Tuesday, June 20 – GFLGLCC May Mixer – 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM. W Fort Lauderdale

June Mixer for the GFLGLCC - Greater Fort Lauderdale Gay & Lesbian Chamber

Wednesday, June 21 – The Equality Garden
Club – The Equality Park Garden Club meets
every 3rd Wednesday of the month except December. It is a Gay and
straight friendly garden club with a variety of plant related events.
Meetings include a guest speaker with a horticultural topic, plant exchange,

Tuesday, June 27 – Equality Florida Broward Equality Connection – 6:00 pm to 8:00
pm. Mojo’s Restaurant, 4140 N Federal Hwy, Fort Lauderdale, 33308. The amazing
chef at Mojo’s will prepare some delicious “lite bites” just for us to go along
with Happy Hour drink specials! The local leadership team will be on hand to
provide an update on the march toward full equality in Florida and how you can
get engaged in our fight right here in Broward County. There is no charge for
this event, so please bring a guest, or three! Equality Connections are a great
way to introduce new people to the work of Equality Florida. If you stay for

Wilton Manors Art Expo – Held on the 3rd Saturday of each
month – 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. January through March, along the 1.1 mile Wilton
Drive, in the Wilton Manors Art and Entertainment District. A Showcase of local
artists, craftsmen, musicians, and businesses in the Arts & Entertainment
District and Dixie Village. This cultural experience brings a multitude of
visitors into our numerous unique galleries, shops, bars, and restaurants on
