May 2019 LGBT Events in Ft Lauderdale

On this Blog, I will post a highlight of some of the LGBT non-profit and political events that are going on in Ft. Lauderdale each month, so folks who want to attend can put them on their Calendars.

Thursday, May 2 – The GLLN Monthly luncheon - 11:45 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. (First Thursday of every month). Timpano Chophouse, 450 Las Olas Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301. We will be announcing the amounts raised at the Gala and presenting checks to Latinos Salud and The Pet Project. THIS LUNCHEON IS OPEN TO EVERYONE. SPEAKER: Jessica L. Geller, Esq. TOPIC: Assisted Reproductive Technology in Florida. Jessica will be speaking about Gestational Surrogacy and its impact on other practice areas. Please see the complete outline here.

Wednesday, May 8 – Dolphin Democrats Meeting– Second Wednesday of Each Month. 7:00pm. The Pride Center, 2040 A North Dixie Highway, Wilton Manors, FL. 7:00 pm – Pizza and social. 7:30 pm – Meeting. “Further, it shall be the mission of this organization to foster good will between gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) members of the Democratic Party and the community at large. Friday, May 10 – SunServe Silver Serve Luncheon– 11:00am – 1:00pm (Second Friday of the Month). ArtServe, 1350 E. Sunrise Blvd. Fort Lauderdale, FL. Every Second Friday of the Month. SunServe is a model 501(c)(3) nonprofit social service agency serving the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning (LGBTQ) community in South Florida. We provide high quality, compassionate, and progressive care for all, including those in financial need, minorities, youth, seniors, families, and those with life-challenging physical or emotional conditions. Wednesday, May 15, 2019 – SociallyGood Benefiting Museum of Discovery & Science–  5:30 PM - 7:30 PM. O-Lounge, 333 E Las Olas Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33301. SociallyGood is a community event presented by Leadership Broward Foundation and it’s open to everyone! Each month SociallyGood will feature a nonprofit partner who will receive 100% of the proceeds from all SociallyGood guest fees collected from that evening. This month we present Museum of Discovery & Science as our partner non-profit. One drink will be included in the $10. All proceeds collected that evening go back to MODS. Sunday, December 1 – World AIDS Day Vigil and Remembrance Walk 2019 – 6:30- 8:00pm. Hagen Park/City Hall, 2020 Wilton Drive, Wilton Manors, FL. On Sunday, December 1st at 6:30 pm, we invite our community to come together for a World AIDS Day Vigil and Remembrance Walk. We will meet at Hagen Park and walk down Wilton Drive united in memory, healing, and love. The candlelit walk will culminate at The Pride Center for a few words of respectful remembrance, support, and continued vigilance.
