July 2019 LGBT Events in Ft Lauderdale

On this Blog, I will post a highlight of some of the LGBT non-profit and political events that are going on in Ft. Lauderdale each month, so folks who want to attend can put them on their Calendars.

Saturday, July 6 – SAGE of South Florida Monthly Luncheon– 12:30pm – 2:00pm at the Herb Skolnic Center in Pompano Beach. Call (954) 634-7219 to reserve your space.

Saturday, July 6 – Lunch Benefiting Pet Project11 AM – 2 PM. Tropics Grille on the Drive, 2000 Wilton Drive, Wilton Manors, Florida 33305. Benefit luncheon to help raise much needed funds for the pets. Joining forces are The Pet Project for Pets and Broward County Animal Care & Adoption in an effort to get pets adopted, fostered, fed and cared for. Join us and meet some adoptable dogs and cats while enjoying lunch at the Grille.

Monday, July 8 - Art Reception – Meet the Artists Hosted by GFLGLCC and Tedds ART Works –  6 PM - 8 PM. GFLGLCC 2300 NE 7th Ave. Wilton Manors, FL 33305. You're invited to an Art Reception with artists Susanne Barton, Fabrizio Cruz, and Jackie Blum Rosen. See their new works which will be on display and available for purchase.

Wednesday, July 10 – Dolphin Democrats Meeting– Second Wednesday of Each Month. 7:00pm. The Pride Center, 2040 A North Dixie Highway, Wilton Manors, FL. 7:00 pm – Pizza and social. 7:30 pm – Meeting. “Further, it shall be the mission of this organization to foster good will between gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) members of the Democratic Party and the community at large. We seek individual freedom in the framework of a just society and political freedom in the framework of meaningful participation by all citizens.”

Friday, July 12 – SunServe Silver Serve Luncheon– 11:00am – 1:00pm (Second Friday of the Month). ArtServe, 1350 E. Sunrise Blvd. Fort Lauderdale, FL. Every Second Friday of the Month. SunServe is a model 501(c)(3) nonprofit social service agency serving the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning (LGBTQ) community in South Florida. We provide high quality, compassionate, and progressive care for all, including those in financial need, minorities, youth, seniors, families, and those with life-challenging physical or emotional conditions. Thursday, July 18 – GFLGLCC Quarterly Networking Breakfast– 8:30 am – 10:00 Am. The Westin Fort Lauderdale, 400 Corporate Drive, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33334. Join us as Northwestern Mutual - Striano Financial Group Presents the GFLGLCC- Greater Fort Lauderdale LGBT Chamber of Commerce Quarterly Networking Breakfast at The Westin Fort Lauderdale. Enjoy a plated breakfast with bacon, eggs, and potatoes served with pastries, muffins, orange juice and coffee. This event will sell out and requires advance registration so PLEASE register today! Thursday, July 18 – Discovery After Dark: Hall of Heroes –5:30 PM - 8 PM. Museum of Discovery and Science, 401 SW 2nd St, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33312. ADULTS-ONLY NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM! Discovery after Dark is the Museum’s adults-only science series designed for the 21+ crowd. Meet other curious-minded people and explore our interactive exhibits while enjoying great food and adult beverages. HALL OF HEROES:Enter the world of superheroes, crime fighters, gadgets and spies! This exhibit combines science and science fiction and features replicas of the TARDIS, the Batmobile and come face to face with the Hulk and Iron Man. Saturday, July 20 – July's OutClique Meet & Greet with Jennifer McClain at Alibi!–  6 PM - 7 PM. Georgie's Alibi Monkey Bar Wilton Manors 2266 Wilton Dr, Wilton Manors, Florida 33305. Monday, July 22 – SAGE of South Florida Men's Night Out– 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm at Rumors, 2426 Wilton Dr., Wilton Manors, FL 33305. Every fourth Monday of the month, SAGE men meet at Tropics for cocktails, dinner and lively conversation. Please Note: Men's Night Out has moved to Rumors on Wilton Drive (across from Rosie's)

Sunday, December 1 – World AIDS Day Vigil and Remembrance Walk 2019 – 6:30- 8:00pm. Hagen Park/City Hall, 2020 Wilton Drive, Wilton Manors, FL. On Sunday, December 1st at 6:30 pm, we invite our community to come together for a World AIDS Day Vigil and Remembrance Walk. We will meet at Hagen Park and walk down Wilton Drive united in memory, healing, and love. The candlelit walk will culminate at The Pride Center for a few words of respectful remembrance, support, and continued vigilance. We invite the community to join us at Hagen Park to strengthen this tradition of hope and healing.
