On this Blog, I will post a highlight of some of the LGBT non-profit and political events that are going on in Ft. Lauderdale each month, so folks who want to attend can put them on their Calendars.

Friday, November 11 – SunServe Silver Serve Luncheon – 11:00am – 1:00pm (Second Friday of the Month). ArtServe, 1350 E. Sunrise Blvd. Fort Lauderdale, FL. Every Second Friday of the Month. SunServe is a model 501(c)(3) nonprofit social service agency serving the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning (LGBTQ) community in South Florida. We provide high quality, compassionate, and progressive care for all, including those in financial need, minorities, youth, seniors, families, and those with life-challenging physical or emotional conditions. Friday, November 11 – Two of a Kind, Broadway to Silver Screen – 8:00pm. The Sanctuary, 1400 N. Federal Highway, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33304. 2 of a Kind is a Cabaret/Concert vocal duo featuring Fort Lauderdale residents Brent D. Kuenning and Steve Geyer. Both are former New York singer/dancer/actors with Broadway, National and International credits. As best friends of similar backgrounds, experiences, and musical tastes, their show “Broadway to Silver Screen” takes the Guys back to their roots to visit the Broadway songbook of shows. A collection transferred to huge cinematic hits and fan favorite films remounted as Broadway hits. From the golden era feature films like Guys and Dolls, South Pacific and Gypsy to smash hits from Grease, Mamma Mia and more. Saturday, November 12 GFLGLCC Wedding & Business Expo
Join us on November 12th at the campus of the Sanctuary at 1400 N. Federal Hwy., Fort Lauderdale for the inaugural GFLGLCC Wedding & Business Expo. Parking and admission are FREE to all. You'll meet and mingle with representatives from our member businesses and corporate partners. We'll have something for everyone -- consumers to business owners, singles, families and those planning their future.

Saturday, November 12  – Pride Center Bingo – Second Saturdays of Each Month. 6:30 p.m. doors open; 7:30 p.m. Pride Center, 2040 N. Dixie Hwy, Wilton Manors. Main Hall, Schubert Building. Bingo; proceeds benefit The Pride Center. The cost is $15.00 for the Bingo Package.  There will be a concession stand open and there is a 50/50 raffle. Monday, November 14 – 6th Annual LGBT Leadership Forum– 6:00pm – 8:30pm NSU Museum of Art, Horvitz Auditorium, One East Las Olas Blvd., Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301. Monday, November 14 – Taste of the Island– 6:00pm – 9:00pm. Richardson Historic Park & Nature Preserve, 1937 Wilton Dr, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33305. Taste of the Island is an evening of food and libation featuring three dozen elite food and beverage establishments spotlighting their culinary and beverage specialties at Wilton Manors’ acclaimed outdoor tasting event. Now in its 11th year, “Taste” welcomes everyone in our community and South Florida to join together to explore the wide range of culinary delicacies available in our area. Wednesday, November 16 – The Equality Garden Club – The Equality Park Garden Club meets every 3rd Wednesday of the month except December.  It is a Gay and straight friendly garden club with a variety of plant related events.  Meetings include a guest speaker with a horticultural topic, plant exchange, raffle table, and refreshments. Thursday, November 17 – Sunday, November 20 – SMART Ride – The SMART Ride began as a dream to create a bicycle event where 100% of pledges raised could go back to the communities to be used for direct services. What makes SMART Ride unique?  The ride is fully supported and designed to allow riders of all degrees of experience to participate. This is a ride not a race. The average rider raises over $2,020. Our participants come from across the State of Florida from as far south as Key West, as far North as Jacksonville, from Tampa to Palm Beach. We attract between 400-500 participants with each event, but we touch thousands more on the road as we travel between cities and towns, and with each donation that is made. Saturday, November 19 Pride Jazz Ensemble Concert – 7:00pm. First United Methodist Church, 101 SE 3rd Ave, Fort Lauderdale, Florida 33301."...All That Jazz" will be a stand alone concert for the South Florida Pride Jazz Ensemble. November through April, along the 1.1 mile Wilton Drive, in the Wilton Manors Art and Entertainment District. The official participants include galleries, eclectic stores, cafes, boutiques and upscale restaurants, which will host over 40 local artists. This is a grassroots collaboration bringing culture and business together for the public to enjoy.  Experience Stonewall Gallery, as part of the Art Walk On Wilton Drive.
