On this Blog, I will post a highlight of some of the LGBT non-profit and political events that are going on in Ft. Lauderdale each month, so folks who want to attend can put them on their Calendars.

Thursday, June 6 – The GLLN Monthly luncheon - 11:45 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. (First Thursday of every month). Timpano Chophouse, 450 Las Olas Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301. We will be announcing the amounts raised at the Gala and presenting checks to Latinos Salud and The Pet Project. THIS LUNCHEON IS OPEN TO EVERYONE. SPEAKER: Jessica L. Geller, Esq. Wednesday, June 12 – South Florida Pulse Candlelight Vigil-– 5:00 PM - 8:30 PM. Richardson Historic Park & Nature Preserve, 1937 Wilton Drive, Wilton Manors, Florida 33305. Please join The Pride Center, South Florida Gay News and WHTN Productions as we present a candlelight vigil to commemorate the 3rd anniversary of the Orlando Pulse Tragedy. Speakers, music by Cliff Roberts, cash bar (proceeds go to the Pride Center) and more will be on the bill as we remember and pay tribute to the 49 lives that were taken from us on June 12, 2016. Friday, June 14 – SunServe Silver Serve Luncheon– 11:00am – 1:00pm (Second Friday of the Month). ArtServe, 1350 E. Sunrise Blvd. Fort Lauderdale, FL. Every Second Friday of the Month. SunServe is a model 501(c)(3) nonprofit social service agency serving the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning (LGBTQ) community in South Florida. We provide high quality, compassionate, and progressive care for all, including those in financial need, minorities, youth, seniors, families, and those with life-challenging physical or emotional conditions. Saturday, June 15 – Wilton Manors Pride Parade 20191:30 PM - 6:30 PM. Wilton Drive, Wilton Manors, Wilton Manors, Florida. The Wilton Manors Stonewall Festival & Parade will take place on June 15, 2019. The Street Festival is an 8-hour spectacle featuring 6 stages of live music, performances and DJs. Friday, June 21 – Gay Men's Chorus of South Florida presents Up, Rise, SING!–  8:00 PM – 9:45 PM. Lauderhill Performing Arts Center, 3800 NW 11th Place, Lauderhill, Florida 33311. June 2019 will mark the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall uprising. "Up, Rise, SING!" is this year’s Pride concert by the Gay Men's Chorus of South Florida, working in collaboration with the Miami Gay Men's Chorus and the Fort Lauderdale Gay Men's Chorus. This regional, music event features “Quiet No More,” a choral piece co-commissioned with the New York City Gay Men's Chorus and the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles to celebrate the vast legacy and worldwide change that resulted from six days in June 1969 in the West Village of NYC. This incredibly moving and inspiring concert will have audiences celebrating the strength of the human spirit and cheering for a shared vision of tolerance and acceptance for all people.
