On this Blog, I will post a highlight of some of the LGBT non-profit and political events that are going on in Ft. Lauderdale each month, so folks who want to attend can put them on their Calendars.

Thursday, Aug. 2 – GLLN Social Luncheon – 11:45am - 1:15pm. Tee Jay Thai Sushi, 2254 Wilton Drive, Wilton Manors. Monthly luncheons are on the first Thursday of every month. The mission for the gay & lesbian lawyers network is to provide a social network in which gay, lesbian and gay friendly lawyers can develop their practices through friendships, referral relationships and professional development. Saturday, Aug. 4 – PBCHRC Summer Soiree – 7:30pm – 9:30pm. National Croquet Center, West Palm Beach. PBCHRC supporters, elected officials and candidates for office will gather once again to party at our Summer Soirée. Tickets at $100 per person include an open bar and passed hors d'oeuvres. Sponsorships at $1,000 include two tickets and a VIP party. Wednesday, Aug. 8 – Dolphin Democrats Meeting – Second Wednesday of Each Month. 7:00pm. The Pride Center, 2040 A North Dixie Highway, Wilton Manors, FL. 7:00 pm – Pizza and social. 7:30 pm – Meeting. “Further, it shall be the mission of this organization to foster good will between gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) members of the Democratic Party and the community at large. Friday, Aug. 11 – SunServe Silver Serve Luncheon – 11:00am – 1:00pm (Second Friday of the Month). ArtServe, 1350 E. Sunrise Blvd. Fort Lauderdale, FL. Every Second Friday of the Month. SunServe is a model 501(c)(3) nonprofit social service agency serving the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning (LGBTQ) community in South Florida. We provide high quality, compassionate, and progressive care for all, including those in financial need, minorities, youth, seniors, families, and those with life-challenging physical or emotional conditions. Saturday, Aug. 11 – Pride Center Bingo – Second Saturdays of Each Month. 6:30 p.m. doors open; 7:30 p.m. Pride Center, 2040 N. Dixie Hwy, Wilton Manors. Main Hall, Schubert Building. Bingo; proceeds benefit The Pride Center. The cost is $15.00 for the Bingo Package.  There will be a concession stand open and there is a 50/50 raffle. Every fourth Monday of the month, SAGE men meet at Tropics for cocktails, dinner and lively conversation. Saturday, October 6 – 22nd Annual National LGBTQ Task Force Gala Miami – 6:00pm - Midnight. Fontainebleau Miami Beach, 4441 Collins Ave., Miami Beach, FL 33140. The National LGBTQ Task Force Gala – Miami is an important South Florida tradition. It allows the LGBTQ community and its supporters to honor our heroes, while at the same time providing a vital source of funding for the community on both the local and national levels. The event is produced by the National LGBTQ Task Force, the oldest national organization dedicated to achieving equality for LGBTQ people, and also benefits dozens of organizations serving the Miami-Dade LGBTQ community. The National LGBTQ Task Force is proud to announce longtime South Florida activists and philanthropists Charles Million and Tim Nardi will receive the 2018 Eddy McIntyre Community Service Award. Sunday, December 1 – World AIDS Day Vigil and Remembrance Walk 2019 – 6:30- 8:00pm. Hagen Park/City Hall, 2020 Wilton Drive, Wilton Manors, FL. On Sunday, December 1st at 6:30 pm, we invite our community to come together for a World AIDS Day Vigil and Remembrance Walk. We will meet at Hagen Park and walk down Wilton Drive united in memory, healing, and love. The candlelit walk will culminate at The Pride Center for a few words of respectful remembrance, support, and continued vigilance.
