April 2018 LGBT Events in Ft Lauderdale

On this Blog, I will post a highlight of some of the LGBT non-profit and political events that are going on in Ft. Lauderdale each month, so folks who want to attend can put them on their Calendars.

Thursday, April 5 – GLLN Social Luncheon– 11:45am - 1:15pm. Timpano Chophouse, 450 E Las Olas Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301. Monthly luncheons are on the first Thursday of every month. The mission for the gay & lesbian lawyers network is to provide a social network in which gay, lesbian and gay friendly lawyers can develop their practices through friendships, referral relationships and professional development. Wednesday, April 11 – Dolphin Democrats Meeting– Second Wednesday of Each Month. 7:00pm. The Pride Center, 2040 A North Dixie Highway, Wilton Manors, FL. 7:00 pm – Pizza and social. 7:30 pm – Meeting. “Further, it shall be the mission of this organization to foster good will between gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) members of the Democratic Party and the community at large. Thursday, April 12  – SAGE & Friends Ft. Lauderdale– Please join SAGE CEO Michael Adams on Thursday, April 12, in Fort Lauderdale as we embrace our diversity and reaffirm our commitment to our LGBT pioneers. This year we are proud to honor Bruce Williams, Senior Services Coordinator at the Pride Center at Equality Park of South Florida, for his tireless work on behalf of LGBT older adults. Friday, April 13 – SunServe Silver Serve Luncheon– 11:00am – 1:00pm (Second Friday of the Month). ArtServe, 1350 E. Sunrise Blvd. Fort Lauderdale, FL. Every Second Friday of the Month. SunServe is a model 501(c)(3) nonprofit social service agency serving the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Questioning (LGBTQ) community in South Florida. We provide high quality, compassionate, and progressive care for all, including those in financial need, minorities, youth, seniors, families, and those with life-challenging physical or emotional conditions. Saturday, April 14 – Pride Center Bingo– Second Saturdays of Each Month. 6:30 p.m. doors open; 7:30 p.m. Pride Center, 2040 N. Dixie Hwy, Wilton Manors. Main Hall, Schubert Building. Bingo; proceeds benefit The Pride Center. The cost is $15.00 for the Bingo Package.  There will be a concession stand open and there is a 50/50 raffle. Saturday, April 21 – Wilton Manors Art Expo – Held on the 3rd Saturday of each month– 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm. January through March, along the 1.1 mile Wilton Drive, in the Wilton Manors Art and Entertainment District. A Showcase of local artists, craftsmen, musicians, and businesses in the Arts & Entertainment District and Dixie Village. Monday, April 23 – SAGE of South Florida Men's Night Out –  5:30 pm – 7:00 pm at Rumors, 2426 Wilton Dr., Wilton Manors, FL 33305. Friday, April 27 – Diversity Honors – The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s will be the setting for the Diversity Honors gala that kicks off Harvey Milk Day events across the nation and will benefit the Harvey Milk Foundation and The Pride Center at Equality Park. This annual event is where the community can come together to honor men and women who, in their extraordinary lives, remind us all of the diversity of the human spirit and the values that define us. Tickets are $200 per person, or a table of 10 is $2,000.
